The earthquake in Italy has tragically highlighted a reality too often overlooked: most of the Italian territory is at risk from earthquakes. This means that when constructing a building, it is absolutely necessary to apply the most effective security policy and using advanced construction methods. The science, technology and modern construction technologies provide solutions that allow you to manage and reduce the seismic risk within acceptable safety limits and sufficient. Our aim is precisely to propose structures which, although temporary, shall have all of the requirements for withstand aftershocks. For example, a structure that includes the use of a frame system can ensure high security.
In designing these houses we reason about features that we believe should be fundamental in the planning stage:

- Comfort in the home and live in that area
The houses were all designed in a similar fashion, creating five different blocks: bathroom, bedroom, two single bedrooms, a living room / kitchen. These blocks were mixed to create four different types of houses, which have doubled the total composition of the area.
All the houses are on one floor, to avoid creating any type of architectural barrier: after the earthquake there were many wounded, including many who need to use a wheelchair , crutches, etc.. It seemed the case does not cause any more problems with stairs and mezzanine.
Although prefabricated houses also, we did not want to miss the architecture in this work: we tried to make houses comfortable, beautiful to see, surrounded by a green space for families.
we paid particular attention to light. The light can be considered a building material with an irreplaceable function of composition because it characterizes the spaces. The central part of the housing is higher than the rest of the house, and to better accentuate this space we have included only the skylight at the top of the room. In other rooms of the windows have been inserted so as to create relationships with other houses that the complex copongono temporary. This type of architecture provides a continuous opportunity to residents to relate, in these cases, the mutual support is very important. The light takes on a double meaning: as a source of enlightenment, but also to a vehicle for mutual support.
Regarding the external structure, the central block is whitewashed, while the other walls are covered with wooden planks arranged horizontally. Each house is autonomous
time in terms of electricity and heating. For each household are applied thermal and photovoltaic panels. The first advantage of the sun's energy to heat water for heating the house and hot water. The photovoltaic panels using solar cells to convert the sun's energy into electricity by the photovoltaic effect.
The provision of housing is designed as a small town independent and autonomous. The space that contains the case is a square of about 10,000 m². In this area there are eight houses, all connected to a communal building.
We believe it is imported to build this building: it is a place where you can engage with all residents, is a place where you can talk and avoids the isolation of the same families. This building (which measures about 20x20 meters) may have multiple functions, both simply meeting, but also to install services such as laundry, shopping, movie theater or something.
